Recent Projects: Lance Charming (QMB139), Honda Ruckus, 2013 Honda Metropolitan (Fuel Injected)

We’ve been busy with various projects the past few weeks! First up we have a Chinese scooter called a Lance Charming, which is a “vintage” style scoot with a QMB139 (50cc, 4-stroke) engine. It needed a new ignition, a new vacuum-actuated petcock, and the owner sprung for an 80cc Big Bore Kit while we were at it.

As you can see, we had to disassemble almost the entire scooter to get to everything! We are a mobile service, so we work streetside a lot of the time! Watch out for those cars whizzing past!!

Next up is a Honda Ruckus that needed a new fuel pump. The stock fuel pumps on these things tend to break if you look at them wrong. They tend to break if the scooter sits for a long time. They also tend to break for no good reason! If your Honda Ruckus or Metropolitan is “running funny” it could be because of a faulty fuel pump. Last but not least, we have a 2013 Honda Metropolitan with a “next generation” fuel injected engine. This one just needed some light service work, so we changed the oil, looked at the air filter, and installed a new spark plug. We performed the work downtown at a metered parking spot!
