June 2nd Track Day, Cushman Scooter, Van Gear, Rolling-Wrench Built GY6 Ruckus for Sale by Customer/Owner AND MUCH MORE
Let’s lead off with some customer scoots, starting with a Cushman scooter from the 1950s I’m putting tires on. The joke here is we need to re-valve the springs. Hey I know another ‘Springs’ that could use some ‘re-valving’ but LOL this is neither the time nor place to talk about schitty politics!
50s Cushman Scooter

That’s what passed for front suspension in the 1950s. Compared to say a Showa Big Piston Fork, these were the caveman days, and it’s ALWAYS interesting to see the bikes that have survived into the 3rd millennium.

They took their design and engineering cues from tractors, which were a fairly recent invention back then. This is the rear suspension on a 50s Cushman. This bike is about as close as it gets to a minter without being overly restored. I’ll post completed pics when I’m done with it.
MINT 2006 Vespa with > 30k Miles
Not everyone can keep one of these going for this long, and it speaks to the owner’s fastidiousness when it came to cleanliness and maintenance. I could tell the owner loved this scooter, which made me love it, and it’s just fantastic seeing WELL USED machines instead of the poorly used, poorly maintained machines I’m often must perform magic spells and miracles upon to get them up and running again.
At any rate, it was an absolute pleasure working on this 2006 Vespa GT200, so here are a couple of pics I could have posted on Insta but am posting here instead (take that Zuck!)

Rolling Wrench-Built GY6 Ruckus For Sale by Owner/Customer

THIS is a… channeling my inner Doug Demuro… I have no idea what year, it doesn’t much matter either, SWAPPED Honda Ruckus with mega GY6 power.
Instead of a top speed of ~38mph at sea level, on a slight incline, with the wind gently blowing on your back, this hot rod goes 55mph+ and gets there as fast as most cars do, making it a beast in traffic for a scooter.
These bikes are fun as heck, and this one was built by one of the best in the business, Mr. Matt Burton at Rolling Wrench right here in Colorado. It will be for sale soon. This is just a little intro post to show it off and get used to writing about it before it goes up on Iconic, BaT, Marketplace etc 😉
But if you found this post on a Google search and are looking to buy, you can maybe get it before it’s listed officially by texting me at (720) 634-6935. I’ll put you in touch with the owner. Shipping etc can be arranged with my help so no issues there at all if you’re nowhere near Denver, CO!

Check Out My Friend Jose, The Mobile Bike Man!!!

You know how I’m the scooter guy? Well this dude here^ is the bicycle guy. He runs a mobile bicycle service specializing in every kind of bicycle, including oddball stuff like e-powered trikes and bikes that are hard to work on and keep him super busy.
I race with him; that’s how I met him was through racing. He corners low and is a stand up guy. Check him out at MobileBikeMan.com!
’02 ZX7R with No Clothes On

Whenever I can find the time, I like to disassemble my bikes and clean them in places nobody has ever cleaned them before because reasons. A clean bike is a happy bike, and my bikes are stoked on life at all times!
June 2nd 2025 Track Day at HPR on the Old Lightweight Bike

I crashed this bike so badly in 2024 that it took me about an entire year to make it ready to ride and race again. After tracking it for at least 4x 20-30 minute sessions yesterday, I can confidently say it’s ready to ride.
After the crash, it needed new fork stanchions, new triple tree, all new left side controls, new fairing stays, and a new sub-frame. The thing is I can’t just go buy fairing stays and sub-frames for this bike, or the repairs would have happened a lot faster. Seriously if all I have to do is cut money for parts and then install them, things happen so fast it’s silly. Making parts is different and requires a lot of patience.
It rides a lot like how I remember it, only now it fits me a lot better but still not as good as my ZX6R fits me. I don’t know what I’m going to do with this bike yet. I thought I was committed to making it a street bike, but who knows. Sell it as a race bike? Turn it into a street bike? Sell it? Keep it? I’m so on the fence and equivocating like a leaf in the wind about this thing. Who knows what’ll happen with it. If anyone wants to try to talk me out of it, be my guest. It has a clean title in my name and could be put back on the street with a little work.
That’s all for now. Thank you so much for reading and looking at my pics! If you have a bike that needs fixing, you know what to do!
