2008 K8 Suzuki Burgman Stator Cover Interference Issue – Video to Address It
Lately I’ve been thinking, always bad news, that I have no business posting on Insta or FB when I have a whole arse website of mine own I can post things on that might even have some chance of seeing some ROI from it. Seems like a better deal to me, so, whenever I feel a hankering for some social media validation, I’m just going to post that ish here from here on out.
I made a video about replacing the stator on a Suzuki Burgman 400. There’s a pretty major issue where the stator cover interferes with the bike’s frame, that nobody on the internet seems to have ever talked about despite these bikes being like 10+ years old at this point. The whole video’s pretty boring, but the first half has the useful bits, and you can skip around as you see fit to get the information you need to push your project forward.
Anyway, here it is:
To make a long story short, yes the stator cover bangs on the bike’s frame when you try to remove it. You have to remove the engine pivot bolt and let the engine fall down like an inch before the stator cover will come off easily, which is to say the proper way. Then you have to jack the engine back into place and push that bolt back through. It’s not hard. Just be patient, take your time. Don’t hit anything too hard with a hammer, and you’ll be OK.
All of this information is in the first half of the video. I don’t have it all annotated yet, but that’s coming soon. I’ve started doing more stuff on YouTube; you can check out my channel at MOTO2N YouTube. I really hate doing video. Like it makes me nervous. But I’m doing it anyway. Because reasons. Like if something scares me, I take that as I sign I should probably do it or do more of it. IDK. We’ll see how this goes.
