Sept. Update: MOTO2N Mama on a 40-Year-Old Dirtbike
A *very busy* August (THANKS EVERYONE!) combined with wonky internet connectivity led to my skipping out on posting something for August.
According to ribbonfarm.com, the month of August should be renamed “Armpit”. August tends to be damned hot around here, and it was, and every one of its thirty some odd days feels like the Sunday before you have to go back to school.
My Moms on a Dirtbike
She’s been doing stuff like this since I was a kid.
She also got the law called on her, but the officer who showed up ended up being cool about it.
Carb Clean on a Honda Magna V4
This engine’s carburetors were out, cleaned, and back in ON THE SPOT IN MY CUSTOMER’S DRIVEWAY in about 4 hours.
I’m pretty sure the only other V4 I’ve ever ridden was a Yamaha V-Max. V4s have some interesting power/sound characteristics, and this Honda and the few V-Maxes I’ve ridden were fun, fast bikes.
The Scooter of Kayaks?
I don’t usually take on projects like this. I like to “stay in my lane,” if you will, which means sticking to scooters, motorcycles, and ATVs.
That looks an awful lot like a scooter engine to me, except it’s hiding in the back of a kayak. It needs a wiring harness. Parts are on the way. I may do a bigger post about it as there’s precious little information (that I can find) out there about these interesting boats.
Basic Scooter Maintenance
This Vespa needed some love.
This Honda PCX needed an oil change.
And This Mechanic is GOING RACING
I’ll be at the AVDRA National Vintage Motocross event tomorrow, September 16th. It should be fun, and I’ll try to take a bunch of pictures when I’m not on the bike.
